2024 CHINESE NEW YEAR - ORDER & DELIVERY DEADLINE

GOODIES GREEN AND COMMITMENTS, DISCOVER OUR CSR STRATEGY TO BE ACTOR OF A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become an essential concern in our current society and in the Media Object market.

Strong in its desire to integrate CSR into all of its strategy, our organization acts every day in the interest of its customers and society, reflected in the CSR project.

The environmental, geopolitical or even health events that we have been encountering on a planetary scale for several years have accelerated the modification of the world in which we live.

Beyond economic profitability objectives, what is the role of a company in 2022? How can we participate in improving the world in which we live?

At AHK, the year 2020 will have taken us through a key stage. By trying to formulate our purpose, we engage in a continuous questioning exercise to act at the environmental and societal level through our activities, our products and our services!

Definition of CSR

A concept born in the 80s

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) also called corporate social responsibility is defined by the European Commission as the voluntary integration by companies of social and environmental concerns into their business activities and their relations with stakeholders.

CSR consists, for a company, of integrating social, economic and environmental concerns into its operational activities and into the management strategy it puts in place. It is also a question, for a company, of interacting with the stakeholders (customers, suppliers, employees, etc.) to integrate these concerns into their relations.

Definition of CSR by the European Union:

The European Commission, in its 3rd Communication on CSR (2011) defines CSR as "the responsibility of companies for the effects they have on society". The European Union has also, in order to provide a framework for organizations wishing to invest in sustainable development, made available in 2001 a Green Paper on Corporate Social Responsibility. She then delivered the following definition: “the voluntary integration of the social and ecological concerns of companies into their commercial activities and their relations with their stakeholders. Being socially responsible means not only fully complying with applicable legal obligations, but also going beyond and investing “more” in human capital, the environment and relations with stakeholders”.

Definition of CSR according to ISO 26000:

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization), an organization responsible for defining international standards that govern business commerce, has also considered the definition of CSR in a document published by the working group on the ISO 26000 Standard on Corporate Social Responsibility. In these guidelines, the ISO gives the following definition: "the responsibility of an organization vis-à-vis the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment, resulting in ethical and transparent behavior that – contributes to sustainable development, including the health and well-being of society; – takes into account the expectations of stakeholders; – respects the laws in force and is in accordance with international standards of behavior; and which is integrated throughout the organization and implemented in its relationships”.

The pillars of CSR
CSR is based on three fundamental pillars which are:

  • Economic responsibility: through the quality of service, the support of local producers and suppliers, transparency and the payment of invoices within the legal deadlines.
  • Social responsibility: by taking diversity and equal opportunity, guaranteeing health and safety to employees, enforcing workers' rights and collaborating fairly with global producers.
  • Environmental responsibility: by reducing the carbon impact of its activities, using resources responsibly, reducing corporate waste and raising employee awareness of environmental issues.
